Yesterday me and Jess decided to try and bake some Christmas tree cookies!
The key word there is “try”…. Let’s just say, they didn’t completely go to plan.
So, we started with a packet of Galaxy Cookie Mix and emptied the whole sachet into a bowl, along with 25g of melted butter and a few tablespoons of water.
We mixed those together then used our hands to create a dough-ball.
I rolled it out thinly with a rolling pin and Jess cut out Christmas tree shapes with my Lakeland cutters.
We placed them onto a baking tray and added them into the oven for 12 minuets at 180 degrees.
While they were baking we created the icing by mixing together icing sugar, green food colouring and water.
Once the cookies were finished we placed them onto the side to cool. We realised they were slightly burnt but we aren’t professionals and will remember for next time.
After the cookies had cooled we spread the icing on top of them, but the consistency was a tad too runny, and made a bit of a mess…
As the icing started to harden we added piped icing as garlands and chocolate decorations as baubles.
Out of around 14 cookies, 6 looked good-ish…
We enjoyed eating them and shared them out with my family too.
For Halloween 2016 me and Jess made Halloween Cakepops which also didn’t go great! There’s a video of that over on my YouTube channel beccabutcherx, definitely check it out!
I think this proves that we should maybe stop making holiday-themed foods..
Thanks for reading today’s Blogmas post, only one week left until Christmas!
See you guys tomorrow,
Best wishes ~ Becca x
