Blogmas Day 13 – My Favourite Christmas Films

Hi everyone!

These movies always get me excited about Christmas and have a special place in my heart!

Here are my top 10 in no particular order..

Elf! This is a film that we usually all watch as a family together as it’s just so fun and stupid. It really makes me excited for Christmas!

Love Actually – I actually always forget that this is a Christmas film, but it’s one of the best films I’ve seen! I love to watch this movie again and again, not just at Christmas!

The Polar Express – I watch this once a year as it’s become a bit of a tradition to watch it just for the sake of watching it. It’s a really festive film but I don’t think I could watch it more than a few times as its quite repetitive already.

The Holiday – My boyfriend Brad actually introduced me to this film so whenever I watch it I think of him. It makes me happy and is really quite entertaining despite it probably not being the first thing that comes to mind when you think of “Christmas films”.

Arthur Christmas – This movie is one of the better Christmas films that’s been made in the past few years, usually we play the same old Christmas films again and again because new films just don’t make us feel the same. But this is a meaningful and enjoyable film that makes people feel festive and can be enjoyed by all the family!

The Grinch – I’ve always loved Dr Seuss rhymes, even as a young kid they were my favourite. But I have to admit that I hadn’t properly sat and watched this movie until last year. I can’t believe I waited so long to see it though because it’s such a funny movie with so many adult and kid jokes and is 100% Christmassy!

The Santa Clause – In all honesty I haven’t watched this movie for a while. I can remember the structure of the story which is a great original idea. I love Tim Allen so I really want to re-watch this movie this year!

Its A Wonderful Life – If you haven’t seen this movie, then go and watch it! It has so much emotional meaning and makes me cry every time! The issues that it addresses – like mental health – really make this an important film that should be seen by everyone. It’s such an important message and worth the long screen-time!

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas – I remember re-watching this again and again as a young kid. It really holds a place in my heart as it was my first Christmas video tape that I owned!

The Muppet Christmas Carol – I love the plot of any Christmas Carol movie. The idea that ghosts teach an ungrateful man a lesson is really inspiring and shows that you should be nice no matter what! The Muppets put a fun spin on the original idea and it’s just about as Christmassy as you can get!

Comment below with your favourite Christmas films that you’d recommend I check out this year!

If you haven’t already, be sure to watch all of the films I mentioned!

Hope you’re having a great Blogmas so far!

Best wishes ~ Becca x
