Blogmas Day 11 – New Year Resolutions

Hi everyone!

Christmas isn’t too far away, which means New Year 2018 isn’t too far away either!!

I know a lot of people make resolutions each year, and I can’t think of a time I’ve ever stuck to one.

I always set myself unrealistic ones, like to no longer be scared of travel or to sleepover at someone’s house without a panic attack, which really translates to “be completely cured of my mental illness” or “do something that my body can’t physically do”. Then I feel awful and guilty for not being able to achieve my resolution and it makes my depression worse.

So this time I’m going to set something thats actually possible, which is to try my best. I always have done, and always will do. But at least with this as my resolution I know that it’s possible.

I might not always achieve or be able to do something, but as long as I tried my best that doesn’t matter. Nobody would be able to say that I didn’t try because I did!

I’d also like to do more for charity, like I used to, since I’ve kind of been lacking in the charity department recently.

I used to volunteer for a charity-run business that gave kids a place to go and hang out after school. This kept them off the streets and thought them about good and bad. They even got to go on trips away and do arts and crafts or play games.

I also did table-top sales where I’d sell all my toys as a kid and give all the money that I made to charity.

I’ve always known that I didn’t deserve or didn’t need everything that I had, and that others could appreciate or use my stuff more.

My family have always been big on giving. My nanan left her will-money to a cat charity, and my mum regularly donates to the food “bins” at local supermarkets for animal shelters or homeless people.

Finally, I want to put as much effort into others as they put into me!

I really want to go out of my way for people and put my friends first. I regularly drop people from my life that aren’t good for me, but those that stay, I want to show them how much they’re appreciated!

I’d love to know what your resolutions are for 2018! Comment them down below.

Thank you for reading and I’ll see you tomorrow!

Best wishes ~ Becca x
