KFC Double Down Burger

Hi everyone!

Today’s blog is going to be a little different and a one-off…

A little-known fact about me is that I LOVE junk food. I know I shouldn’t but I could eat junk food forever. I think I have a bit of a junk-food problem… McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC, Indian, Chinese, Thai, Japanese, Costa, Taco Bell, you name it and I’ll have eaten there…

So when I heard that KFC have brought their Double Down Burger to the UK for the first time, and for only 6 weeks, obviously I had to try it!

(I took the photos late in the day so the quality and lighting isn’t great and it tastes a lot better than it looks! The presentation of the “Burger” wasn’t amazing and it looks a bit bland but I would recommend trying it before you make up your mind!)

It wasn’t cheap but I don’t regret spending my money on it. I really enjoyed it, and if it was available in England forever I’d probably eat it again and again! There was a good ratio of chicken to sauce to cheese.

If you’re a big fried chicken and BBQ sauce fan, then you’ll absolutely love the Double Down Burger! It’s literally just 2 pieces of KFC fried chicken with cheese and sauce, and it’s so simple I can’t understand why nobody has thought of this sooner or why it isn’t available forever.

HOWEVER, the fact that there is no bread means that I won’t technically class it as a “Burger” and it gets a bit messy to eat. Also, I asked for it without bacon so was dissipointed to see that a slice of bacon had made its way into the centre of the burger, hidden by cheese! (This may be something to make clear to the staff if you don’t eat bacon as they didn’t take my request of no-bacon on board, despite me ordering the non-bacon option?)

But other than that, I’d give the Double Down Burger a 10/10 from me. I really really enjoyed it and think that it’s worth trying while it’s still around!

I know this blog post was a little bit out of character and different, but I thought that it would be a great opportunity to blog about it as I love trying new and limited edition foods! I hope that this inspires you to go out and try the Burger (despite how bad my photography skills make it look)

Thanks for reading!

Best wishes ~ Becca x
