Sizes
8oz/237ml
What it does
  • Creates a crackled texture as it dries on rigid surfaces
  • Dries to a hard, opaque finish
  • Maintains paint adhesion, durability and archival quality
How to use it
  • Use on rigid supports only
  • Can be used on its own and painted over once dry
  • Can be mixed with acrylic color - using no more than 15% paint to 85% medium
  • Apply paste evenly to surface with a palette knife
  • Leave to dry for at least 24 hours before painting over
  • Cracking will vary depending on how thickly you apply it - the effects will be more obvious on thicker applications but will take longer to dry
  • When using on wood, seal with a base layer of fluid/gel medium and let dry before Crackle Paste application
  • Fully compatible with all Liquitex products
  • Recommended thickness for crackling effect is between 5 and 10 mm
How not to use it
  • Don't dilute with water
  • Don't force dry with a fan or heater as this may result in less or no cracking
  • Don't try and slow the drying time by adding a slow drying medium as this will affect crackling effect
